annual
USA Grand National Dance Championships
!!!
The Grand Nationals is a
unique competition event because it is a national showcase for two
distinct styles of Swing – West Coast Swing, which is popular all across
the country, and Carolina Shag, which was born in, and for many years
exclusive to, the Carolinas. Both dances are similar in that the basic
step consists of two triples and a double, but each has its own special
movement and styling.
In addition to offering 12
top level competitive divisions where the best dancers in the country
compete for over $40,000 in cash & trophies, the Grand Nationals will
also offer workshops conducted by nationally recognized Swing and Shag Champions
as well as over 30 hours of social dancing – so there is something here
for everyone.

Anqet Natural Spring Water provided all weekend by Alleghany Products, a
FREE ice cream party on Saturday and Sunday, two ballrooms with DJs at all times,
late night dancing each night until 5 am, and special dance exhibitions
by elite dance performers make this an event you don’t want to miss! The USA Grand Nationals will be held on Memorial Weekend, May 22th - May 26th, at the elegant Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia.
